Vintage Philco Console Radio CD cabinet.
This is a beautiful 1936 Philco console radio that has been converted into a CD cabinet.
My husband sanded down the worn finish, then re-stained the wood cabinet a beautiful mahogany.
The entire cabinet was then protected with two coats of satin finish polyurethane to give it a light sheen. This helped preserve its elegant vintage feel without making it overly glossy.
The radio itself was beyond repair, so we repurposed this vintage classic by creating a door on the front to open up the inside for storage.
Shelves made of oiled Teak wood were installed, and the grill cloth replaced.
The knobs are original to the unit.
This radio/CD cabinet is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind conversation piece, and will add a great vintage look to your living room, entryway or man cave.
