Rustic Coffee Table Trunk. Blanket Chest Trunk

This beautifully rustic trunk was designed and built by my husband. It is made entirely from reclaimed/salvaged pallet wood.  

The handles on the top and sides are made from vintage horse bridle bits.



 Vintage iron hinges support the trunk lid. 

A coat of sealer has been added to all hardware to prevent rust transfer.

Decorative iron hearts on the front and back complement the handles and complete the look.



The lid of the trunk is supported by chains on each side when opened. 
Finally, the trunk was finished with two coats of satin polyurethane for protection.
This piece will make a unique coffee table with lots of storage room inside, or would also look great as a blanket chest at the foot of your bed. 
This trunk is very sturdy, solid, and heavy.
