Trunk Treasure Chest
This trunk started out as a plain painted box with a flat plywood lid and an ugly paint job. My husband stripped the paint and found the beautiful wood underneath you see in the photos. |
He built the lid three inches deep out of old reclaimed barn wood, then added all the hardware: lock, latches, piano hinge, metal strapping and decorative clavos. |
All the hardware was sealed to prevent rust transfer to anything. |
The inside bottom is covered with a beautiful black and gold fabric. |
This trunk will look great at the foot of your bed as a blanket chest, or in your living room as a coffee table. |
Small feet were then added to raise it off the floor. Lastly, the entire trunk was stained, then finished with a coat of wax and buffed. The trunk comes with two keys for the lock. This Trunk Treasure Chest is available at our Etsy shop. View it here |
