Trunk Treasure Chest

This trunk started out as a plain painted box with a flat plywood lid and an ugly paint job. My husband stripped the paint and found the beautiful wood underneath you see in the photos.

He built the lid three inches deep out of old reclaimed barn wood, then added all the hardware: lock, latches, piano hinge, metal strapping and decorative clavos.

All the hardware was sealed to prevent rust transfer to anything.

The inside bottom is covered with a beautiful black and gold fabric.

This trunk will look great at the foot of your bed as a blanket chest, or in your living room as a coffee table.

Small feet were then added to raise it off the floor. Lastly, the entire trunk was stained, then finished with a coat of wax and buffed. The trunk comes with two keys for the lock.
